Some vineyards in Perno, Municipality of Monforte d’Alba
Subvariety: LAMPIA – MICHET – ROSE’
Exposure: south, south-west
Date of Vineyard: in between 1963 and 2010
Elevation: 420 – 460 meters above sea level
Density: 4,300 – 4,600 vines/hectare
System: Guyot

VINIFICATION

After being gentle pressed, the grapes are moved to 50 hl fermenting vats, where they undergo alcoholic fermentation for approximately 15 days. At the end of this phase the must is left for few more 12 days in contact with the skins to extract all the noble substances.

The wine is aged for two years in small oak barrels, six month in steel tanks and finally one year in the bottle.

THE WINE

A classic Barolo that respects our traditions, produced with some grapes taken from each of our Cascina Gavetta vineyards.
It represents different varieties of nebbiolo grapes: the variety Lampia and Michet give structure to the wine, the variety Rosè gives complex bouquet and elegance.
Is the whole of all our vineyards with different history, ageing and soil: white clay soil of the Municipality of Novello together with sandy soil of the hamlet of Perno.
The result is a persistent well-rounded and complex wine with an intriguing bouquet.
